Just like that, Josh Giddey has done it again.

The 19-year-old continues to rewrite the record books, having scored a career-high 28 points as he recorded his second-straight triple-double in a 127-123 win over the New York Knicks.

Now Giddey has made it three triple-doubles in a row, putting up 17 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds in a 114-106 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Giddey records his second triple-double! | 01:00

With it Giddey joined Oscar Robertson (1960-61) as the only rookie in NBA history to record three-straight triple-doubles.

The Australian also joins Ben Simmons and Luka Doncic as the only players in the last 25 years to put up four triple-doubles in their rookie season.

There were several standout highlights for Giddey in the Spurs clash, as has become standard from the teenage sensation, including assisting an Aleksej Pokusevski dunk.

“Sometimes, the passes you see Josh Giddey throws, it takes you in and out of Magic Johnson thoughts,” Thunder broadcaster Michael Cage said.

“He’s just making the game look easy at times because he knows how to play it. He’s already got three triple-doubles in the season and again he’s one rebound away from another.

“He’s playing with a whole lot of confidence.”

“Just a dazzling display,” fellow OKC commentator Chris Fisher added.

“So much control, so much poise despite being the second-youngest player in the NBA.”

Giddey is now tied for second all-time in 10-assist games as a teenage rookie with nine, only trailing LeBron James with 11 and level with Stephon Marbury.

“Obviously it’s cool to get your name alongside any greats,” Giddey said post-game.

“But as I always say, it’s always about the team. If we could’ve got a win tonight, it would’ve been great. That’s why New York was so special.”

The Australian has embraced the added responsibility without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (right ankle sprain), averaging 16.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 7.2 assists.

Giddey had already become the youngest player in NBA history with back-to-back triple doubles after his effort at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.

He also became the first teenager in NBA history to record a triple-double at the famous New York venue.

“It was everything I expected,” Giddey said of his first game at MSG.

“The fans are awesome. They’re into the game; a packed house. It’s everything I’ve seen on TV, being told about.”

While the individual accolades keep coming for Giddey, who is taking on an increased role in the Thunder offence, the Australian is still remaining focused on the long-term picture.

Speaking last week, Giddey said he had spoken with Oklahoma City coach Mark Daigneault about being “smart” and making sure to “keep his minutes in check”, even if the Australian continues to heat up on the court.

Giddey is not the only young Thunder player enjoying a recent run of success, with 21-year-old Tre Mann also building on his career-high 30-point effort against the Knicks.

Mann, who was drafted by Oklahoma City with the 18th pick in the 2021 Draft, had 24 points, six rebounds and three assists against the Spurs.
