Ray has done it again. He’s proven himself a finisher of note in the second half of this match. The first try was by far the best, but the second two were still dramatic. He’s the man they’ll remember after this match. Manly win 28-4 and coach Des Hasler should be reasonably happy.

Ray Vaega is in for his second try and was just as excited as when he scored his first. A leaping effort and one-handed touchdown provided some late excitement. The score is now 22-4 and both sides will be looking to get through the final four minutes with a minimum of fuss.

Toafofoa Sipley just looked to have set up a try for Kaeo Weekes but the Bunker ruled it was due to an illegal blocking play. With 11 minutes to go the score remains 18-4. This second half is in no danger of appearing in any “classic matches” compilation for future generations to enjoy.

Ray Vaega certainly made an impression with that stunning solo try. He jumped high to field a mid-field bomb before sprinting to the line. It’s probably the best piece of individual play we’ve seen tonight.
The second half was crying out for something like that. Manly now lead 18-4 with players having their second-half drinks break.
