Alex Winwood has been left shattered with defeat in that fight, in what was a controversial finish.

Chinyemba tagged Winwood with a left at the start of the second round to score a clean knockdown.

Winwood was able to get to his feet, but didn’t get a full count and the bout was waved off.

His eyes looked a little glazed, but that was a poor stoppage in my opinion. If he’s lost the first round badly, it may have been different, but he boxed nicely and was given the round before the flash knockdown.

He left the ring in tears before graciously returning to speak to reporters, saying he was disappointed but wanted to be a good sport and set a good example.

“I feel like I’ve been a little bit robbed of an opportunity to prove myself,” Winwood said after he was cleared by medical staff. “I felt like I was fine, the call was a bit quick. I went down and I just felt like it was a chance to show them what I’m made of, I can come back from adversity.“I boxed well in the first round. Obviously got caught, went down, felt I was fine. It’s a tough sport but she made her mind up and the referees are there to protect us. It is what it is.”
