Wests Tigers’ poor discipline has continued with two more players sent to the sin-bin during their latest 24-12 loss to the Dolphins – and coach Benji Marshall’s patience is running out.

For a third week in a row, the Tigers had players given a ten-minute timeout, with centres Brent Naden and Justin Olam at half-time and in the 47th minute respectively.

Naden collected Dolphins winger Jack Bostock in the face as he laid on the ground after knocking the ball on. Instead of having a fresh set before the break, the Tigers were forced to defend their line with 12 men.

The Olam was binned after an ugly tackle on Jamayne Isaako who stayed down in pain, but was able to finish the game. Olam locked his legs around Isaako before he fell backwards.

Marshall praised his side for putting in so much effort, but was disappointed by the lack of discipline that heaped pressure on the Tigers.

“The message has been the same for the past six weeks that we keep beating ourselves, if we can’t change it, the people have to change,” Marshall said.

“I don’t want to make excuses about what we have and what we don’t have, but we need to start learning from our mistakes.”

Pushed on the Naden and Olam incidents, Marshall said: “Put it this way, our discipline is terrible, and we need to find players who are more disciplined.”

Api Koroisau scored a try in his 200th game to get the Tigers within a try midway through the second half, but they never looked like troubling the Dolphins.

Marshall said Koroisau deserved more in his milestone game, and “he epitomises what we want our club to be like, and the way we want our players to play”.

The Tigers will remain north of the border ahead of Saturday’s clash against Marshall’s premiership-winning teammate Todd Payten and North Queensland.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow made an excellent return from a hamstring injury, running for more than 200m and bagging a double in a perfect Origin I tune-up.

Cult hero Mark Nicholls also crossed the paint for a second straight week.

Coach Wayne Bennett is expected to have his three-year contract with South Sydney rubber-stamped in the next couple of days, and was glad he had brokered his own deal, because “I don’t have to worry about managers leaking stuff, do I?”
