The alleged bet-fixing scheme involving a trio of Macarthur FC players has widened, with two more A-League teammates named as participants.

Matthew Millar and Jed Drew are accused of partaking in a criminal group that also allegedly involved three charged players, club captain Ulises Davila and teammates Clayton Lewis and Kearyn Baccus.

Their identities were revealed in documents on Thursday as midfielder Baccus, 32, became the first of the trio to face court over the alleged plot to receive yellow cards in return for payment.

Police seized them in the early hours of May 17, charging them with engaging in conduct that corrupts a betting outcome. It is the biggest sports corruption scandal in Australia’s football codes since the NRL’s Ryan Tandy affair in 2010.

Neither Millar nor Drew have been charged, however police previously said they were looking for another Macarthur player who was not in NSW at the time of the mid-May arrests.

Melbourne-born Millar, 27, joined the Bulls in 2022 from Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren, having spent the previous several years hopping from South Melbourne to the Central Coast Mariners and Newcastle Jets, and then a loan stint with English League One club Shrewsbury Town.

Drew is the son of Brad Drew, the former NRL hooker who played for Penrith, Parramatta and Canberra before finishing his career at Huddersfield. The 20-year-old winger has represented the Young Socceroos and had been hoping to make the Olyroos for their Olympic qualifiers in April but was ultimately unsuccessful.

Davila, 33, was arrested and charged after allegedly paying Baccus and Lewis, 27, to deliberately receive yellow cards in a scheme NSW Police said led to hundreds of thousands of dollars being paid out in winnings.
