Skateboarding royalty Tony Hawk has heaped praise on Australian teen Arisa Trew, who became the first woman to land a 900-degree spin in a half-pipe.
"Arisa Trew just became the first female to land a 900," Hawk wrote to his 8.8 million Instagram followers, accompanied by a video of Trew nailing the landing.
"Glass ceilings are so 2023. Congrats."

The 900 consists of spinning two-and-a-half times in the air on a skateboard.
Trew wrote on Hawk's post: "Thank you so much Tony! Your (sic) an inspiration".
She also posted the footage on her Instagram page, calling it "A dream come true".
No stranger to setting vert-skating records, Trew was the first woman to land a 720 — consisting of two full rotations — in competition aged 13.
She did that at Hawk's Vert Alert, in Utah, and repeated the trick at last year's X-Games, where she came away with Vert skating gold.
It was a move that saw the Aussie named action sportsperson of the year at the Laureus World Sports Awards.
Vert skating is not an event at the Olympics.
Trew is aiming to make the Australian Olympic team for Paris 2024, and did her ambitions no harm at all by winning the park final at the Shanghai Olympic Qualifier series.
The second leg of the Olympic Qualifier series is set for Budapest on June 20-23, where another strong performance will seal Trew's spot in Paris.
"In Budapest, I am going to do my best and land some solid runs and have heaps of fun," Trew said.
"Hopefully I can get into the final and maybe another podium there, which would be super cool, but I'm really just excited to compete there."
The top 20 athletes per discipline after the Olympic Qualifier Series, with a maximum of three athletes per country, will be eligible for selection for the Paris Olympic Games.
Australia will be able to take a total of 12 athletes from within the top 20 (three per discipline, per gender).
Trew is currently sitting in second place in the Women's Park Olympic Rankings.
The skateboarding competition in Paris will take place at the Place de la Concorde, with the prelims taking place on August 6.
