Bargain hunters who missed out on Fourth of July sales need not fret -- a new Walmart Deals event just launched, bringing huge savings on tech, home goods, summer essentials and more to compete with Amazon Prime Day. Early deals at Amazon have already started rolling in, and we anticipate to see more of these 'anti-Prime Day' sales happening at various competitors as we get closer to the main event.

If you're a Walmart Plus member, you'll get a massive five-hour head start, as the sale drops at noon ET for those with a membership. Everyone else can shop the deals starting at 5 p.m. ET, but keep in mind that some of the best offers may have limited stock, so you may miss out on some top deals.

Haven't signed up to be a Walmart Plus member just yet? You still can -- and right now you can score 50% off a one-year membership, dropping the price to just $49.

Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.

Do I need to be a Walmart Plus Member to shop the Walmart Deals event?

Walmart Plus members will get early access to this event, starting July 8 at noon ET. However, you do not need a membership to shop the sale, as the event will open to everyone at 5 p.m. ET. The only caveat is that some of the top deals may be sold out by then as supplies are limited.

When does the Walmart Deals event end?

The Walmart Deals event runs from July 8 through July 11 at 11:59 p.m. ET. That puts it ahead of Prime Day, which kicks off July 16.

Should I shop Walmart Deals or Amazon Prime Day?

Both sales are going to be great opportunities for catching top deals. The retailer has touted the Walmart Deals event to be the "largest savings event ever," offering up to 50% off a wide array of items. And Amazon Prime Day is historically the biggest sale of the year for Amazon, so they're both great opportunities to save on tech, home goods, school supplies and more.

We'll be highlighting the best deals from all the year's biggest sales, so keep an eye on CNET.com/deals and the CNET Deals account on X for all the latest updates.
