Bonjour!
You know what that means. I’m Chris Paine and we’re back in action for another massive day on the ground in Paris.
Jessica Fox has the chance to go for gold in the women’s K1 canoe slalom, a medal that’s so far eluded her (her epic Tokyo 2020 win was in the C1 event) in her illustrious career.
We’ll also be keeping an eye on the rowing (our man Rob Harris is out at Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium), the women’s street skateboarders (including 14-year-old gun Chloe Covell) and of course another big night of swimming at the pool.
Speaking of the pool, can we all just acknowledge how bloody good that was? We’ll have more on that for you shortly.
Elsewhere, we have the women’s rugby sevens kicking off their campaign with matches against South Africa and Great Britain, and the Matildas’ at 3am (AEST) in a desperate bid to revive their Olympic fortunes against Zambia.
Outside of the Australians in action, some superstar American athletes get going in the form of Team USA men’s basketball and the imitable Simone Biles in the women’s all-around gymnastics.
There’s a lot more, too, and we’ll give you a bullet-point rundown on all of that shortly. We hope you do stay with us through the evening (I hear caffeine’s pretty useful...)
