The 2024 Summer Olympics are underway in Paris, France.

Australians will be competing in events including swimming, canoe slalom and hockey on day five of the Games — with the Matildas hoping to defeat USA to stay in the competition. 

Because of the time difference, it'll be night time in Australia when many of those events kick off.

Here's what's on the schedule for day five of the Paris Olympics.

What are some of the events Australians are competing in on day five?

All times have been converted to AEST. 

Triathlon:

  • 4pm: Women's individual Sophie Linn and Natalie van Coeverden
  • 6:45pm: Men's individual — Matthew Hauser and Luke Willian

Shooting:

  • 5pm: Trap women's qualifications: Catherine Skinner and Penny Smith (final from 11:30pm)

Equestrian:

  • 6pm: Dressage team and individual grand prix qualifier: Simone Pearce, Matthew William

Judo

  • 6pm: Women -70 kg elimination round of 32: Aoife Coughlan

  • 7pm: Women's 200m breaststroke heats: Jenna Strauch (final from 6.15am)

  • 7:46pm: Women's 200m butterfly heats: Abbey Lee Connor, Elizabeth Dekkers (semifinal from 4.43am)
  • 4:30am: Women's 100m freestyle final: Mollie O'Callaghan, Shayna Jack

The Olympics will be broadcast free-to-air on Channel Nine and 9Gem.
