Police are investigating after a man was found dead by a passerby in a western Sydney park on Saturday morning.
About 6.50am, emergency services were called to a park on Rawson Street, Auburn, following reports a man was unconscious.
Officers attended the scene and performed CPR on the man – who is believed to be aged in his 30s - but he could not be revived.
Police established a crime scene and began inquiries into the circumstances of the incident.
Police said the man, who has not been formally identified, had suffered a head injury.
Acting Superintendent Mitchell Newton said the man was found by a member of the public who called triple zero.
“We are still trying to determine the cause of death and once that’s determined it will progress our investigation,” he said.
