Apple unveiled its new iPhone 16 lineup, Apple Watch Series 10 and more at its event on Sept. 9, but it also announced online that iOS 18 will be released to the general public on Monday, Sept. 16. If you can't wait for then, the tech giant already released beta versions of the iPhone update to developers and beta testers. Some of the new features developers and beta testers can try now include RCS messaging and home screen customization. Note that iOS 18 is still in beta, so these features could be buggy or not work properly. I recommend downloading a beta on something other than your primary device. Because this isn't the final version of iOS 18, the update might be buggy and battery life may be short, and it's best to keep those troubles on a secondary device. I downloaded the beta on my old iPhone XR to keep any bugs or issues away from my iPhone 14 Pro.
