With Agatha All Along and Bluey minisodes on the way, Disney Plus is offering a new discount on its ad-based plan that makes it just $2 a month for three months. The streaming service's regular rate for the Disney Plus Basic subscription is $8 per month, so the deal saves customers $18. If you're a new or returning subscriber, it's an opportunity to lock in some savings before Disney's streaming price hikes go into effect on Oct. 17.

After the three-month promotional period expires, your monthly plan will increase to $10 per month unless you cancel. You have until Sept. 27 at 11:59 p.m. PT to sign up for the deal. This offer is only for a standalone Disney Plus Basic subscription and not the ad-free version, and can't be combined with any bundles or other discounts. However, if you also have a standalone Hulu subscription, you can watch Hulu content on the Disney Plus app.

Come October, Disney is increasing prices for most of its streaming services, including ESPN Plus and Hulu with Live TV. Disney Plus Basic will go from $8 a month to $10, while the ad-free plan will cost $16 instead of $14 per month. The Duo Basic bundle with Disney Plus and Hulu will increase to $11 monthly, and ESPN Plus goes to $12 per month.

Disney Plus is a CNET Editors' Choice pick and one of the best streaming services for families. The platform is home to Star Wars hits and Marvel titles like The Avengers and X-Men '97, as well as Disney classics and originals like Descendants: The Rise of Red. Upcoming new arrivals this year will include Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Pixar releases and Alien: Romulus.
