Top country jockey Aaron Bullock is set to continue his impressive recent winning strike rate when he heads to Taree on Tuesday with a strong book of five rides.
Bullock enjoyed a successful end to November by racking up a double-figure number of winners since November 10, and he now heads to Taree.
His best two rides at Taree appear to be the Damien Lane-trained Oakfield Zena in the Sky International Maiden Plate (1609m) and Oakfield Peewee in the Fay’s Angels Benchmark 58 Handicap (1408m).
Both horses are raced by prolific owner Bruce Mackenzie, with Oakfield Zena being a five-year-old mare by Zoustar coming into her event on the back of a resuming fifth at Taree behind Sheila’s Fanta Sea.
Oakfield Peewee, meanwhile, is a four-year-old gelding by Press Statement that did the job well to score a last-start win at Taree with Bullock in the saddle.
That followed a strong second at Wyong when not beaten far by the Brad Widdup-prepared Hardpoint.

Bullock kicks off the day at Taree when linking with the Cassandra Stummer-trained King Carlos in the Ross Stitt Country Boosted Maiden Plate (1308m).
King Carlos races in the colours of owner John Ramsey and although yet to be placed from five starts, he wasn’t beaten far at Muswellbrook last week behind Bondi Prophet.
