Australian moguls skiing great Jakara Anthony has added to her stellar career record, winning the 23rd World Cup event of her career in Sweden. 

Anthony began the season with a second-place finish behind French competitor Perrine Laffont, giving her an Australian record 42nd World Cup podium result.

The Victorian went one better in the Swedish resort of Idre Fjäll in the second event of the season.

Anthony qualified for the finals of the women's moguls with a score of 77.39 for her run. This put her second overall behind Laffont (78.434), and ahead of third-place Canadian Maia Schwinghammer.

The reigning World Cup champion then produced the goods in the final run, finishing with her highest score of the season so far, earning 82.94 from the judges.

Laffont was second in 80.89, with Schwinghammer third in 80.71.

Fellow Australian Charlotte Wilson qualified in sixth spot with a first run of 72.84 points, before finishing in 10th in the final on 69.75.

"It feels good to finish up in first place," Anthony said after the event.

"I don't think there was any more pressure than any other competition, I know what I am trying to achieve every time, I am competing against the other girls but kind of just competing against myself in a way."

The men's event also took place in Idre Fjäll, with Australia's Matt Graham qualifying for the finals with a first run in fifth.

He finished in 11th, while fellow Australians Oliver Logan and Cooper Woods posting 26th and 30th place results respectively.
