CHANNEL 7 has won an interim injunction against the former mistress of its CEO Tim Worner, preventing her from making public any more damaging documents against the media company.

Amber Harrison, who had an 18-month-long affair with Worner, had been waging a Twitter war against Seven West Media, publishing information she claimed supported many of the allegations she tabled to its independent review into Mr Worner, their 2012 affair and his corporate conduct.

The review found Mr Worner had no further case to answer, after receiving an initial rebuke by chairman Kerry Stokes when the “inappropriate” relationship surfaced internally in 2014.

In a statement, Seven West Media said the ex parte injunction was sought to stop “former employee Ms Harrison releasing documents or information that is the property of the company, which she appears to have taken before she left her employment and which she has retained without authority and in breach of her employment obligations.”

After Ms Harrison joined Twitter late last month, SWM said: “it became clear late last week Ms Harrison [was] now releasing or divulging commercial in confidence emails and other documents that she has no right to hold, access or release. These documents extend beyond the scope of the other dispute Ms Harrison has with SWM,” referencing an investigation in claims she misused a company credit card when employed as the personal assistant to then executive, Nick Chan.

“The [court] relief sought is based not only on breaches of the Settlement Deeds but also and importantly on violations of obligations of confidentiality arising under the general law, the Corporations Act and her former contract of employment.”

The court will consider the matter further tomorrow.
