Collingwood has won its first game in Super Netball, holding off defending champions Queensland Firebirds 54-50.
The Magpies, who were upset in their franchise-opening game 58-55 by local rivals Melbourne Vixens last week, dominated for most of the match with skipper Madi Robinson in dominating form leading the game in feeds (47) and assists (17).
After trailing for all the opening quarter, the Firebirds scored the last three goals to end the term 13-12 up.
The Magpies snatched the momentum back taking a four-point lead into half-time and doubled this advantage at three-quarter time.
A thrilling last term that saw the Firebirds score five consecutively to scare the Magpies, before late goals from Teague-Neeld and Thwaites ensured victory.
In Saturday's earlier games, the Giants dominated the West Coast Fever for a commanding 66-51 win in Sydney.
The Giants were never troubled and lead from start to finish, flying out to an 18-12 quarter-time lead and extending it to 35-22 at half-time.
Their momentum gathered pace in the second half as they grew their advantage to 52-34 at the end of the third period before running out convincing victors.
The Giants' seasoned trio of Kim Green, Bec Bulley and England's Serena Guthrie controlled the mid-court, allowing Susan Pettitt to roam around the attacking third. Pettitt finished with 15 goals.
And there was also a win for the NSW Swifts, who staved off a fourth-quarter challenge by Adelaide Thunderbirds to score a 54-44 win and secure their first victory in Super Netball.
The Swifts were looking comfortable after extending their 27-20 half-time lead to 43-32 at three-quarter-time.
However, the introduction of 199cm tall 19-year-old goal shooter Jane Cook sparked a comeback for the Thunderbirds, suggesting they could repeat their late come-from-behind round one win over West Coast Fever.
Adelaide scored eight of the first nine goals in the final period to bring the deficit back to just four goals.
But the Swifts absorbed the pressure and responded with seven of the last nine goals to claim victory in front of a vocal crowd of about 8000.
