RueStiicBohemian coastal brand, Rue Stiic, has just secured a major deal with Anthropologie, which sees the Byron Bay-based e-retailer now stocked in the lucrative US market.

The deal represents a milestone for the brand, which was conceived in 2013 starting with a line of six garments – all in one size – that were initially stocked in shops around Western Australia.

Based in Byron Bay and handmade in Bali, Rue Stiic incorporates elements of the coastal Californian – Australian lifestyle.

The burgeoning brand said that the Aussie and US markets differ markedly.

“We find the US and AUS to be totally different markets – our selling ranges are over 100 units per collection now as we are tailoring styles directly to each country,” explained Jillian Beed, founder and designer of Rue Stiic to Inside Retail.

“We are very excited to be an international brand and want to ensure each country is loving their Rue Stiic styles.

“Creatively, I feel inspired and motivated by the challenges of designing for multiple markets. Rue Stiic has always been inspired by coastal cities and towns around the world. Our US, AUS and European customers love the wanderlust style and city to surf ready collections.”

“Being a lifestyle hub that caters for the creative, Anthropologie’s aesthetic has forever aligned with ours here at Rue Stiic.”

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the coastal-inspired brand, who since securing the Anthropologie deal has received large orders from two additional US retailers including Planet Blue & Free People for its Autumn and Winter collections.

Rue Stiic offers a range of ready to wear basics, plus a collection of  artisanal inspired pieces and a range of accessories and swim pieces –  inspired by the modern day traveller and coastal city lifestyle of Southern California where Beed grew up.

Beed has further plans in place to open a flagship store in Australia and the USA “hopefully this year”.

“We are inspired by so much around us, Rue Stiic was built across two beautiful places in the world- Bali and Byron Bay,” she said.

“Our coastal lifestyle definitely influences our designs which has gained a following within Australia.

“We like to keep our Australian girls in mind when designing though; we understand the city girl may not be drawn to the bohemian prints but will love our linens, luxe staples and swim – the collections always have something for everyone.”
