The Australian dollar has plummeted against the greenback on the back of disappointing trade data.
At 0630 AEDT on Friday, the Australian dollar was at 75.60 US cents, down sharply from 76.56 cents on Thursday.
The Aussie slipped after official figures on Thursday showed Australia’s trade surplus fell by $2 billion to $1.3 billion January.
