CHRIS Brown is keeping it in the family.

The popular TV vet has welcomed dad Graham and older brother Tim to the jungle, his family flying to South Africa to visit while he’s shooting I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

But it’s not all game drives and family dinners, Brown and his 71-year-old father are both vets and share a love of African wildlife.

“Like me, the lure of African animals is strong for dad,” Brown, 38, said.

“Dad’s love, funnily enough is parasites which is much to the amusement of the rest of the family. He comes over here each year on a parasite finding mission and he’s become almost the regional expert on parasites of rhinos, zebras and hippos and all sorts of creatures.”

Brown’s brother, Tim, 42, is an environmental engineer. Together, the Brown trio have been spending their down time at the local Rhino Revolution orphanage, as well as travelling to Cape Town on a day off from shooting.

“Orphaned rhinos are very vulnerable,” Brown said. They’re very emotional creatures so when they lose their mothers to poaching it is tragic but also the emotional stress of that can kill them and their immune systems become very weak. Over the past two years dad has prevented some really serious outbreaks of worms and lice and ticks in the area. It’s this unseen thing that he does and he loves it and people around here love him for it.”

Of his father, Brown added: “Dad finds it amusing that his son, who he thought was following in his footsteps, does something completely different for six weeks. He gets a kick out of that.”
