Living within metres of a national park has been a wonderful experience for the Nolan family.
“It’s like our own sanctuary,” Patrice Nolan said.
“We can’t see any of our neighbours – we just have a beautiful view of the Lane Cove National Park.”
Mrs Nolan, her husband Jarrad, and their three children have benefited from the serene location at 68A Eastcote Rd, North Epping, even hosting a yoga session in the tiered garden that was apparently landscaped by celebrity horticulturalist and landscape designer Jamie Durie.
“It’s a great place to wake up to every day,” Mrs Nolan said.
The Nolans are just the second owners of the five-bedroom home, on 2008sq m, built in 2006.
It is clear an architect has played a major role in the design, which has been configured so almost all of the rooms have a stunning bush outlook.
Wide balconies on the upper level maximise the magnificent backdrop, which cannot be built out, as do big glass windows and doors.
A hallway entrance veers off to the right and into a spacious, polygon-shaped formal lounge.
Mrs Nolan described the home as a “great entertainer” and this becomes apparent in the big family, dining and kitchen area that leads to the tiled outdoors.
The kitchen has stone benchtops, with plenty of bench space for the kids to serve themselves brekkie, stainless-steel appliances and plentiful storage.
A guest bedroom/study and bathroom are conveniently located on the lower level.
Upstairs, the living is easy – at the top of the stairs is a big rumpus or media room with a balcony, the perfect hangout for teenagers.
The main bedroom is enormous and has its own study nook, balcony and expansive walk-in robe and ensuite.
Three more bedrooms have built-ins, and two share a balcony.
The main bathroom has a laundry chute.
Outside, the cascading garden has a delightful, infinity-edge swimming pool and timber deck to soak up the view.
