A BLOCK of flats in Long Jetty has sold for the same price as a single Sydney unit.
1-6/2 Elsiemer St, also known as 141 Tuggerah Pde, sold at a bustling Saturday auction for $1.14 million — the median unit price in popular Sydney suburbs like Beecroft, Breakfast Point, Connells Point and Northbridge.
The property contained six flats, and sat directly opposite a lakeside reserve.
Kevin MacDiarmid of LJ Hooker — The Entrance sold the property, and said he received plenty of interest throughout the sales campaign. He added that the building’s sale price was “no surprise.”
“Bidding was strong and the property was sold to local business people who are very excited with their purchase,” he said.
“The vendors who have owned the flats since the early ‘90s were quite emotional but really pleased with the fantastic result.”
While a little run down, the block presented excellent value for Long Jetty, where the median unit price is $413,000. All up, the property included a total of 11 bedrooms and six bathrooms — but only had a single garage. The new owners plan to make some improvements to the building, in which all of the units are currently tenanted.
