Cricket Australia says it will monitor the situation in London but remains comfortable with the level of security around the touring Australian squad.

London was again rocked on Saturday by terror, with fatal attacks on London Bridge and nearby Borough Market.

Multiple terror attacks strike London

British police rushed to several incidents in central London on Saturday after a van ploughed into pedestrians on London Bridge and reports of multiple stabbings in the nearby Borough Market area.

The Australian side is in England at the moment for the Champions Trophy, and are due to face Bangladesh on Monday at The Oval - not far from Vauxhall, where a third incident, believed to be unrelated, took place on Saturday. The Australians were set to train as planned at The Oval on Sunday ahead of their match against the Tigers.

Australia captain Steve Smith said the players were shaken by the attack.

"We're shocked and saddened by what happened last night," Smith said. "You never want to see that happening around the world. Particularly, I guess, when we are so close to the events that happened last night.

"We have been briefed by our security team this morning and they are comfortable with where security is at and for us it is just about being diligent with everything that we do and continuing the tournament as usual."

The Australians' match against Bangladesh is expected to go ahead and Smith said the players were taking precautions to keep safe.

"We've been advised to stay relatively close to the hotel and just be diligent with whatever we do. Just make sure we're on the lookout and being smart with whatever we do."

A CA spokesman said the governing body would work with the ICC and tournament organising committee to ensure the Australians' safety.

"As with the rest of the world, the Australian team is shocked and saddened at the events that have occurred in London overnight and our thoughts are with those directly involved and their loved ones," he said.

"The team, support staff and travelling contingent have been accounted for. Our security team is working closely with the ICC and LOC to ensure the safety and security of our players and support staff is paramount.

"At this stage we are comfortable with the level of security being provided to us and will continue to monitor the situation."

The Times of India has meanwhile reported that security had been beefed up ahead of the India-Pakistan match at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Sunday.

It is not the first time an Australian team has been in England at the time of terror attacks. The Australians were on their 2005 Ashes during the deadly London Underground blasts of 2005. Australian team have also refused to play matches in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the past because of security concerns.

The latest attack on London is the third terrorist incident in England since March. On March 22nd a police officer was fatally stabbed and four others were run over by a car and killed near Westminster's Houses of Parliament.

Then on May 22nd a suicide bomber at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester killed 23 people.
