Amazon’s cloud computing arm has embarrassingly failed to handle the online demand at its own conference, with the live video stream crashing in the middle of a keynote speech delivered by its CEO.
At about 9am Wednesday Las Vegas time, the live stream stopped working while Amazon Web Services chief executive Andy Jassy was on stage at the Re:Invent conference, showing this error message:
The crash was presumably caused by demand. The Re:Invent conference has attracted an estimated 40,000 people from around the world to Las Vegas, which is roughly double the number just two years ago, and many more watching online.

AWS is popular with businesses with significant web interaction with customers, such as Netflix, AirBnB and Commonwealth Bank.
