A FOUR-bedroom single-level home on 720sqm is this week’s most popular SA property on realestate.com.au.

The high-end Scott Salisbury-built home at 8 Hughes Ave, Henley Beach, which has been on the market for a week, got more clicks than any other residential SA home on the site over the past seven days.

Scheduled for auction on Thursday, December 14, the 2012 home, which includes a dedicated home theatre, mineral salt water swimming pool and plenty of lawn space, is being marketed with a price tag of $1.15 million.

As such it exceeds the seaside suburb’s $840,000 median house price, according to CoreLogic.

Selling agent Laz Ouslinis, of Ous Property, has so far only conducted two opens but says he has been overwhelmed by buyer interest.

“We had 70 families through in two days and I’ve run out of brochures,” he says. “It’s just ridiculous.

“We’ve got a number of people looking to make offers to try and buy it before auction.”

Ms Ouslinis attributes the home’s popularity to the “wide market appeal” of its large block and the fact it is not likely to attract developers.

“At the moment you’ve got really strong competition from developers in Henley Beach,” he says

“To find a family home that’s Scott Salisbury-built and all on one level, it appeals to Baby Boomers and families.

“It’s in the Henley High School zone and close to St Michael’s College, so it covers a large section of the market place.”

Mr Ouslinis says he has received interest in the property from downsizers keen to secure a home without stairs, as well as from eastern suburbs buyers looking for a sea change.

The fact the home was built five years ago also makes it sought-after by buyers looking for a newer style property without the hassle of building themselves, he says

“It’s unique to hit the market and it’s exactly what the market wants.

“There’s an under-supply of that type of property- that’s the reason it’s number one.”

Highlights of the home include a luxurious kitchen with Smeg stainless steel appliances and Essa-stone benches as well as a large walk-in pantry.

There are also open plan and alfresco living areas, a timber-framed gazebo by the pool, high ceilings and a gas fireplace.

Mr Ouslinis expects the home to sell on auction day.
