Mark Bolotin has witnessed pretty much every possible response to his bizarre invention, the Lumiphonic Creature Choir.
"The reactions are pretty amazing," said the Sydney-based inventor and multimedia specialist. "There is this sense of wonder, because it is something so different. Sometimes there's laughing.

All of which is perfectly understandable – it's not often you witness a dozen apparently disembodied heads performing together in eerie synchronisation.
"It's a giant 12-headed sculpture that is projection mapped in a very specific way I developed," said Bolotin. "Each face is controlled individually through the keyboard. I press a key and one of the creatures will either sing a note, beatbox, recite a fragment of poetry … they can do anything."
