Aussie fashion brand Homebodii has inked a deal with US-department store Nordstrom that will see its range of bridal robes, sleepwear and organic essentials launch on the giant’s online platform.
The deal expands the 7-year-old businesses’ US presence and comes less than a year since it landed a distribution deal with Australian department store David Jones that has seen it rolled out across 22 stores.
In a media release announcing the partnership Homebodii did not provide any details on whether it would look to shelf space in Nordstrom’s stores, but did say its range will be available on the US retailer’s e-commerce platform by 13 May (Mother’s Day).
For Nordstrom Homebodii is just the latest Australian brand its brought onto its platform recently, following the addition of Mighty Good Undies and Forever New in March.
Homebodii already has a foot in the American market through retailers Anthropologie, Revolve Clothing, White Runway and The Iconic.
“We are experiencing the most rapid growth since I launched Homebodii in 2011. To attract the attention of such a prestigious retailer is beyond my wildest dreams,” founder Ingrid Bonnor said of the deal.
“With determination and perseverance, Homebodii went from our spare room to a small factory and now bigger factory with our own showroom and leading national and internationally stockists,” she said.
Homebodii has quickly become a major player in Australia’s sleepwear space, moving to the top spot in the category for DJs last Christmas on the back of interest from celebrities like Taylor Swift and brand ambassador Sophie Monk.
