Wild winds have ripped roofs off houses and brought down trees, damaging buildings across Melbourne and beyond with gusts reaching more than 110km/h.
Victoria's State Emergency Service had received more than 366 calls for assistance by 9pm on Monday night, with 237 trees down and nearly 120 reports of building damage, mostly in and around Melbourne.
Earlier, on Monday afternoon strong winds ripped a roof off house in Apollo Bay in south-western Victoria, while another roof was torn off a single-storey house in Wallan, north of Melbourne about 6pm.
SES crews from Kilmore rushed to the house and remained on scene until after 9pm on Monday night.
"There are also reports of lots of trees down so we are just urging people to be aware of where they are parking and reminding them not to park under trees or over hanging branches," an SES spokeswoman said.
