A mother and her two sons have narrowly avoided serious injury after their car flew over an embankment in Perth’s north.
Witnesses said the Mazda went through a roundabout, straight over a bike path, through a fence and down the embankment at North Beach, where a group of people had been gathered moments before.
The car became wedged on the edge of a small cliff, bringing it to a stop.
Witnesses said they saw the crash unfold and rushed to help.
“(It went) straight off the highway, straight though the gap and through that fence,” Gary Gregson told 9NEWS.
“We just ran down and tried to get the kids out,” Floyd Mason said.
“The kids undid the door luckily.
“The boys were okay, no bruises, no cuts, just in shock.”
The family was taken to hospital for assessment, but it is understood no one suffered serious injury.
