"Then afternoon working again, all staff have the day off so I'll be one man band with 16 horses. Home by 6pm for a toasted sandwich and cup of tea and into bed.

"There's no peace and quiet in this job and it's seven days a week.

Cleary backed himself to produce a few winners on Wednesday with Concrete in the first (1200 metres) and Creative Vision in race three (1460 metres) his tips.

"We should have a good day. Concrete will win and Creative Vision up to 1400m, he just rode first up at Bega only 900m and we had to find 1400m," Cleary said.

"They're the sort of horses that need a confidence booster, him and Concrete. It's good a day out Boxing Day, bit of a family day and a big crowd, it's like a school reunion."

The festive season is a busy one for Cleary who is preparing for the Magic Millions Two-year-old Classic (1100 metres) at the Gold Coast on January 12.

Cleary has won the $250,000 Country Cup on Queensland's biggest day of racing day but Girls Are Ready will be his first runner in the $2 million race.

"It's a bit of a working holiday the Magic Millions but it's a busy time of year for racing, there's so much on between now and March," Cleary said.

"You've just got to work through it all to keep the bank balance ticking over. We're heading to Noosa in April but until then it's handlebars down."
