Minutes after Sydney FC coach Steve Corica had ran his players through their video analysis of Brisbane Roar, he was delivered the news his opposite in the dug-out had stood down. After emerging from the Sky Blues' meeting room to attend his own pre-match press conference, Corica was told by reporters of Aloisi's resignation as Brisbane Roar coach.
While derailing the Roar's preparations for their trip to Sydney, it also threatened the Sky Blues' own tactical game plan. For Saturday's match, they will be steered by former assistant Darren Davies and despite the upheaval, Corica won't make any changes to his approach to his strategy for the match at Kogarah.

"I think we will prepare the same way and obviously we have to be ready to readjust as the game goes along if a new coach comes in and changes things around. It’s something we’ll have to wait and see tomorrow," Corica said.
The forced change at right-back as a result of Rhyan Grant's call-up to the Socceroos squad for the Asian Cup will likely be the only alteration to his starting team, with Paulo Retre given the nod to start in Grant's place. Corica will resist making many more changes, hinting Danny De Silva may have to start from the bench again despite his impressive cameo against Perth Glory, scoring as a substitute to seal Sydney's 2-1 win last week.
