Department store David Jones said its boss David Thomas has resigned from his position, citing "personal reasons".

A replacement for Mr Thomas would be announced in "due course," the company said in a statement on Thursday.
His replacement will be David Jones’ fourth CEO in five years, following the departure of Ian Nairn in 2016, also for "personal reasons", and Paul Zahra in 2014, shortly after Woolworths bought the business for $2.1 billion.
Ian Moir, CEO of the South African group Woolworths which owns David Jones, will help run the business until a new chief executive is found.
