A 38-year-old truck driver has been charged over the death of a cyclist on the Federal Highway on Saturday morning.

- A 38-year-old truck driver, who was not injured, was charged with dangerous and negligent driving causing death
- He has been granted bail and is due to return to court next month
The man had been riding southbound just outside the town of Sutton, near the NSW and ACT border, when he was allegedly hit by a pantech truck.
The truck driver was not injured but was taken to the Queanbeyan Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
He was later charged with dangerous driving causing death and negligent driving occasioning death, and was granted bail.
He is due to return to the Queanbeyan Local Court next month.
The death was the first of a cyclist on NSW roads this year.
At a press conference yesterday, NSW Police's Inspector Sandy Green urged drivers to be careful when sharing the roads.
"This is devastating, absolutely devastating," she said.
"Yet another cyclist and a truck have collided. I suggest motorists be really patient and consider one another and drive safely and carefully."
"It might be a good idea for all of us to rethink how we treat each other on the road and be a little more courteous."
The collision caused traffic delays for much of Saturday, with Inspector Green saying some motorists in the queues were insensitively impatient and rude.
