Australia's Twenty20 World Cup champions have been overlooked in an upcoming women's exhibition series that will be played alongside the men's Indian Premier League finals.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the three squads that will take part in the four-match series, which will be held in Jaipur on May 6-11.
A one-off IPL exhibition match was staged last year and Australia fielded the largest overseas contingent, with Meg Lanning, Megan Schutt, Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney all making the trip.
Australia romped to the T20 World Cup title in the West Indies last year, and in Healy has the world's best T20 player, according to the ICC.
Of the 39 players named in the three IPL Women's Challenge teams, 12 are foreign players, with each team having four foreign players.
Of the foreign players, four are from New Zealand, three each from the West Indies and England, and one each from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
South Africa and Pakistan are playing a series that clashes with the triangular tournament, meaning no players from those sides are available.
Australian players are required to be in Brisbane for an Ashes training camp that starts on May 13.
However, Cricket Australia's female high performance manager Shawn Flegler indicated last month he expects the governing body will be supportive of Australians taking part in IPL exhibition matches.
Last year's game was hailed as a success by all involved, with players and officials around the world hoping the BCCI will soon launch a standalone women's tournament.
Healy and Lanning indicated last month they would jump at the chance to return to India this year and play more T20 fixtures alongside the world's best.
"One hundred per cent," Healy said.
"It would be fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed that experience.
"It's [a domestic tournament in India] probably the next step for the women's game in the T20 format, so if that gets up and running, that's really exciting.
"I'm sure a lot of the girls would be willing to stick their hand up for it."
The game in 2018 was played as a curtain-raiser to a men's IPL match, but this year's series will feature standalone matches.
Perry, who played for the winning Supernova team in the 2018 game against the Trailblazers, described the occasion as the highlight of her career.
"It was nice and such a competitive match that finished with a lot of excitement," Perry was quoted as saying after the match.
"It was such a great opportunity to come here at the Wankhede Stadium and play on such a big occasion.
"It's good for the health of the game, in terms of the development of the players, to play with different people, under different coaches and different conditions.
"In some ways I guess the IPL for women has been the missing piece of the puzzle and it's certainly a good start.
"To come here and have the experience today is certainly the highlight of my career.
"If we can bring something like an IPL for women up, it would be absolutely brilliant."
