On Monday, Kogan announced that it will be getting into the energy game.
Partnering with Powershop Australia, the online retailer will be offering power and gas services to Aussies under the name Kogan Energy.
The company has stated that it will be offering competitive services, although there is currently no pricing or plan information available. These will reportedly be announced closer to the launch date.
“Kogan.com is excited to partner with Powershop, which is part of Meridian Energy – Australasia’s largest 100% renewable energy generator. This partnership will enable Kogan.com to offer Aussies low cost power and gas, and a first-class customer experience using technology that will enable customers to easily track their energy usage at any time,” said David Shafer, Executive Director of Kogan.com.
Powershop is part of the Meridian Energy Limited group, which has a focus on clean and renewable energy sources.
“Meridian Energy Group provides world class generation from some of Australia’s leading wind farms and hydro power stations, and Powershop Australia was ranked Australia’s Greenest Power Company from 2014-2018 by Greenpeace,” said Shafer.
Kogan Energy will be launching sometime in the latter half of 2019. It will join other non-retail services that the brand has launched such as Kogan Mobile, Kogan Insurance and Kogan Money.
