Beth Mooney and Jess Jonassen's unbeaten 60-run seventh-wicket partnership has lifted Australia to a four-wicket victory in their second one-day international with England after Delissa Kimmince's five wickets held the hosts to a sub-par total.

Chasing 218, Ellyse Perry's 62 put Australia on course for victory, but then she fell for the fifth wicket with 82 runs still needed in the Women's Ashes series in Leicester on Thursday.

However, Mooney (43*) and then Jonassen (31*) stepped up to close out the victory.

Earlier, England's Tammy Beaumont (114) hit the first century of the series but got little support as her side fell to 217 all out, with Kimmince taking five for 26 including two wickets in consecutive overs to bring a premature end to the innings.

Once again chasing a low score, Australia stumbled initially with Alyssa Healy (9), Nicole Bolton (1) and Meg Lanning (18) failing to support Perry.

Rachael Haynes put on 53 for the fourth wicket before clipping a ball from Laura Marsh (1-38) into the bowler's outstretched arms.

Still, with Perry at the crease, victory seemed assured but she was dismissed in the most unlikely fashion when a long-hop from Anya Shrubsole (3-47) way outside off stump clipped the bottom edge of her outreached bat and was collected by Amy Jones.

Earlier, Beaumont received little support in her run-a-ball knock, the first English ODI ton in an Ashes format, which knock included an array of eye-catching sweeps and cuts before a reverse pull off Jess Jonassen (2-42) saw her hit the ball onto her stumps.

The final five wickets fell for just 30 runs.

Australia now has four points from the series, with another ODI to be played in Canterbury on Sunday, before the Test series worth four points and three Twenty20s, also worth two points each.
