Tokyo: Bernard Foley makes a shock return to the Wallabies No.10 jersey as Australian selectors shake things up ahead of their must-win pool clash against Wales on Sunday (5.45pm AEST).

Foley reprises his halves pairing with Will Genia, who gets the nod at halfback over Nic White, who drops to the bench.

Brumbies playmaker Christian Lealiifano has been dropped from the squad entirely after an underwhelming performance against Fiji in Sapporo last week as part of a selection shake-up will set tongues wagging.

The surprises didn’t stop there. Kurtley Beale returns to the role of “super sub” he played to devastating effect at the 2015 World Cup, with Dane Hayley-Petty at fullback and veteran Adam Ashley-Cooper named on the wing in place of the suspended Reece Hodge.
