An irate Trent Robinson has batted away questioning over the controversial call that played a huge role in defining the grand final.

While there were several other questionable calls throughout the decider, without doubt the match's biggest talking point was sparked by a 'six again' call from referee Ben Cummins that was then overturned, catching the Raiders napping.

Instead of a full set of six attacking the Roosters' line, Raiders star and Clive Churchill Medallist Jack Wighton was forced to hand the ball over, with the Roosters' scoring the match winning try moments later.

While Ricky Stuart refused to be drawn on the call in his post-match press conference, Robinson was angered when it was brought up by Johnathan Thurston in his on-field chat with Nine.

Here's how the conversation went down, with Robinson's face turning a dark shade of red as he glared at Thurston.

Thurston: "Ben Cummins waves six to go and then calls sixth tackle, what are your thoughts on that?"

Robinson: "On the refereeing for the whole game? Is that what you're asking?"

Thurston: "He called six to go again and then on the back of that you scored off the back of that."

Robinson: "Look, I don't see that, do you, you felt as though we got lucky there JT?"

Thurston: "I was just saying because they called six to go and then fifth tackle, so I was just asking your thoughts on that."

Robinson: "Honestly, if you're bringing that up at this time, there could have been lots of decisions we could have gone through.

"What are my thoughts on that? I thought that we were under the pump for a lot of that game and we fought hard and we won the game.

"I felt like a lot of controversy at different times, we decided to take advantage of it, and we decided to make a difference and change the momentum of the game and we did."

Robinson's fiery response drew a huge reaction on social media, with the victorious coach hammered for his attitude, while Thurston was praised for asking a tough but warranted question.
