The Australian dollar continues to climb against its US counterpart, trading at 71.72 US cents up from yesterday’s 71.24 US cents.

The local currency was at 71.16 US cents on Monday, falling from the 72.22 US cents at Friday’s close.

One Australian dollar buys 75.79 Japanese yen up from 75.58 Japanese yen; 60.75 euro cents from 60.52 euro cents; 54.83 British pence from 54.46 British pence; 108 NZ cents from 107.68 NZ cents.
