The Sydney Roosters have been caught up in the latest COVID-19 scare, following confirmation the man who tested positive yesterday visited the Moore Park precinct.

Yet the NRL club now appears to have been cleared.

Anyone who visited the Azure Cafe on Monday is regarded as a casual contact by NSW Health, and must get tested and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.

The venue is located in The Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park and is close to the offices of both the Sydney Roosters and the NRL.

The movements of Roosters players and staff had to be ascertained to determine if any had been at the cafe during the times identified by NSW Health; they now appear to have received the all-clear given that the squad emerged for a training session on Thursday.

It's believed the players were sent home early on Monday following Saturday night's emotional win over Newcastle, a match that saw both Brett Morris and Lindsay Collins suffer serious knee injuries; in Morris' case, almost certainly ending his glittering career.

According to the NSW Health website, the exposure time at the Azure Cafe was between 12.30pm and 1pm.

While the players went home early on Monday, it was unknown if any Roosters staff visited the cafe at that time.

The Roosters are due to play Parramatta on Friday night at Bankwest Stadium.

The latest outbreak also has potential ramifications for next week's Magic Round, with all 16 clubs scheduled to play at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium over a three-day period.

ARLC chairman Peter V'landys has indicated there's no immediate threat to Magic Round, although the next 48 hours will be crucial.
