In recent years, Samsung has consistently outshined Google's WearOS and even Fitbit's smartwatch operating system with its Tizen software. It helps the Galaxy Watch 3 stand out as one of the best smartwatches you can get if you're an Android fan — but like any premium wearable, the Watch 3 is on the expensive side at $400. But Amazon's new sale knocks the 41mm and the 45mm Galaxy Watch 3 down to $230 and $260, respectively, which is $170 off their normal prices.

Samsung managed to make the Galaxy Watch 3 thinner and lighter than its predecessor and we found it easy to wear and use all day long. The case comes in a variety of finishes and its rotating bezel not only adds a unique element to its design, but it's also a handy way to navigate the operating system. It has a 360 x 360 Super AMOLED display and houses a bevy of sensors including a heart rate monitor, GPS, accelerometer, an electrocardiogram (ECG) tool and more.

We appreciate the improvements Samsung made to Tizen to make the Galaxy Watch 3 both a better fitness device and a better smartphone accessory. It has better workout tracking than its predecessor and it includes a built-in running coach feature that provides feedback about your symmetry, contact time and flight time after each run. The watch also has fall detection, blood oxygen readings and solid sleep tracking as well. And those who like to rely on their smartwatch rather than picking up their smartphone will enjoy Tizen's widgets that let you log things like food and water intake with only a few taps.

When it comes to battery life, the Galaxy Watch 3 should last up to two days on a single charge. That's not bad for a fully-fledged wearable like this, but other devices like those from Fitbit can last for five days or more on a single charge. But if two days is enough for you, the Galaxy Watch 3 offers a ton of value for the money — especially when it's 43 percent off like it is now.
