New Hugo Boss CEO steps into role
Daniel Grieder, the new CEO of Hugo Boss, is now officially on board and will be joining the brand’s managing board.
Grieder, who has been appointed by the supervisory board for a period of five years, aims to make Hugo Boss one of the top 100 global brands and plans to spend more than €100 million on marketing between now and 2025.
He worked for Tommy Hilfiger for more than 20 years and was largely responsible for the successful establishment of the brand in the European market.
Grieder was named Tommy Hilfiger CEO in 2008 after the integration of the business into PVH corporation. He was appointed CEO and president of Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH Europe in 2014.
Carousell appoints new managing director for Hong Kong
Singapore-based online marketplace Carousell has appointed Kevin Huang as its new managing director for its Hong Kong operations.
Huang, who will be overseeing Carousell Hong Kong’s overall business strategy, managing daily operations, marketing, branding, and community engagement, will report to the company’s chief operations officer Bryan Teo.
A digital industry veteran and a former CEO of telecommunications company Birdie, Huang will be leading the company as it looks to grow Hong Kong as a key market.
“I am passionate about helping small businesses in Hong Kong, and Carousell is a platform where anyone can find selling success,” Huang said.
According to him, whether a person is a casual user selling pre-loved items, a budding entrepreneur, or even a merchant running a physical shop for decades, he or she can find his or her own community and niche on Carousell.
Online platform OnTheList gets new brand manager
OnTheList appointed Alexis Fredet as its new brand manager for Australia. He started in June this year.
Fredet formerly served as director for L’Atelier AUNZ at GroupM Contract, and after two experiences on the client side for Moët Hennessy and with the European tourism brand Pierre & Vacances, he went back to agency life.
The online platform OnTheList is an independent members-only flash sales concept site founded in Hong Kong and has a presence in Singapore, Taiwan, Shanghai, and Beijing. It recently launched in Australia.
Carsome hires former AirAsia exec as CTO
Southeast Asian e-commerce platform Carsome named former AirAsia exec Vishnu Nambiar as its new chief technology officer.
In his new role, Nambiar will drive the automotive platform company’s next stage of transformation by leading the technology team and addressing the automotive industry’s most pressing needs.
“Vishnu’s experience in transforming business operations through technological innovations means he is perfectly placed to bring us to the next level as a technology-driven marketplace for all things automotive in the region,” said Carsome co-founder and group CEO Eric Cheng.
Nambiar takes over from Chet Sin, who has been appointed as Carsome’s chief architect to lead the design, implementation and governance of the company’s technology architecture.
Before joining Carsome, Nambiar was with AirAsia Group, leading the company’s technology function.
