Week one of the 2021 AFL finals series is locked in and fans can look ahead to four mouthwatering duels.

The finals series will get underway on Friday night when second-placed Port Adelaide meet third-placed Geelong at Adelaide Oval, in a rematch of last year's qualifying final.

First-placed Melbourne will then square off with fourth-placed Brisbane at Adelaide Oval in a qualifying final on Saturday night, after Max Gawn's post-siren kick secured the Demons' first minor premiership since 1964.

Week one of the finals will also play host to a Sydney derby, as the sixth-placed Swans take on the seventh-placed Giants at Launceston's York Park on Saturday afternoon.

And the opening week of the finals will round out with a clash between the fifth-placed Western Bulldogs and eighth-placed Essendon, also at York Park.
