CouriersPlease has released a browser-based video game that puts players in the shoes of their local courier, in an effort to help Australians understand just how much work goes into delivering packages.
Players must work to deliver as many parcels as possible, while navigating dog attacks, traffic, road accidents and closures, as well as typical barriers to delivering parcels: a closed business, or a resident not at home.
“It is no surprise that Aussies significantly underestimate the number of parcels a courier delivers each day, nor the work that goes into delivering them,” said CouriersPlease chief operating officer Phil Reid.
“We are launching our Super Delivery Heroes video game not only as a fun, nostalgic computer game for Aussies to enjoy, reminiscent of retro games, but to also raise awareness of the hard work within our courier industry.”
The game’s launch coincides with the release of a survey held by CouriersPlease that found 83 per cent of Australians underestimate delivery volumes.
