Of the 23 Geelong players that faced the Power on Friday night, 16 fell short of a pass mark.
One continued his horror finals form, the other was a veteran that “looked like he was 45 years of age”.
We rate all 23 Geelong players for their performances against Port Adelaide in the Second Qualifying Final.

1. Rhys Stanley
Probably only just lost the ruck battle against Scott Lycett. Finished with six disposals, with five of his 20 hit-outs going to the advantage of a teammate. 5
3. Brandan Parfitt
One of his side’s better midfielders and had a consistent output across the four quarters. Finished with 21 disposals, 12 contested possessions, eight tackles and five clearances. 6
4. Shaun Higgins (medical sub)
Subbed into the game late in the second term to replace the injured Mark O’Connor. Finished with 10 disposals and three clearances. 4
5. Jeremy Cameron
Manned up by Power skipper Tom Jonas. Got an early confidence-booster, nailing a long-range set-shot kick for Geelong’s opening goal of the game. But struggled to have an impact after quarter-time. Had just one handball in the third term and finished with 1.2. Seven of his 10 touches led to Geelong scores. The Cats sacrificed a lot of draft capital to bring him to the club to help them take the next step on their journey to a flag. The delivery to him wasn’t great, but far from his best game. 4
7. Isaac Smith
Started the game well, with a big defensive spoil and kick inside 50 that set the tone for his side. Finished with 23 disposals, five score involvements and four inside 50s. 6
8. Jake Kolodjashnij
Had the job on Robbie Gray and had his colours lowered. Wasn’t the only Cats defender to experience that, though. 4
14. Joel Selwood
Tried hard to influence himself on the game, but only had the 17 disposals. Copped a little bit of attention from Willem Drew throughout the night. Kicked a late consolation goal. 5
22. Mitch Duncan
First game back since Round 14 — and you wouldn’t have known he’d been out for so long, racking up a whopping 14 disposals and seven marks in the first quarter along after beginning on a wing next to Karl Amon. Geelong’s best player, finishing with 33 disposals and 13 marks. 7
23. Gary Rohan
Oh dear. Another dirty finals performance. Had Ryan Burton for company at the first bounce and had just two handballs to his name at half-time. Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd told 3AW Football Rohan was “non-competitive” across the first two quarters. Was moved behind the ball after half-time to replace the injured Mark O’Connor and had 10 touches, but was outmarked by Todd Marshall a couple of times. Rohan has now played 21 finals for just 14.9. 2
24. Jed Bews
Started on the bench. Gave away a down-field free kick during the third term that left Power players fuming. Struggled to have an influence on the game with seven disposals. 3
25. Lachie Henderson
A bad night for the veteran, who was sent straight to Charlie Dixon. Had a lot of nervy moments across defence that led to Power goals. Of all Geelong defenders, Tom Stewart’s absence probably exposed him the most. Fox Footy’s David King told Fist Crack: “Henderson looked like he was 45 years of age.” 2
26. Tom Hawkins
His 300th game was one to forget. Trent McKenzie went straight to him. Took a strong contested mark early and missed the set-shot but replied later in the first term with a big set-shot goal. But the delivery to him was poor throughout the night, finishing with just three marks and two goals. 4

27. Sam Menegola
Started on the bench and struggled to get into the game. Finished with 22 disposals, but nine of them came in the last quarter when the game was over. And considering he had 15 uncontested possessions, a kicking efficiency of 45 per cent was mightily disappointing. 4
29. Cam Guthrie
A poor night for the gun midfielder. He had just three disposals in the first term and 17 for the game — well down on season average of 30 — with a kicking efficiency of just 50 per cent. 3
30. Tom Atkins
Like many of his defenders, couldn’t contain the Power’s small forward brigade, while he only had 11 touches for the game. 4
32. Gryan Miers
Had Dan Houston for company early. Kicked 0.1 from 12 disposals. He’s only managed four goals in six games since returning from injury. 4
35. Patrick Dangerfield
Started in the guts, but had just nine disposals in the first half when his team needed him the most. And when he had the ball he was far from his best, including a turnover kick across goal and a dropped mark that led to Power major. Finished with 23 disposals, 16 contested possessions, nine inside 50s and eight clearances, but his stats sheet looked better than his output suggested — except for the nine turnovers. 4
37. Sam Simpson
Manned up by Darcy Byrne-Jones at the first bounce. Kicked one goal from 11 disposals. 4
38. Jack Henry
If he wasn’t down back, would hate to think what the losing margin would’ve been. While lots of his fellow defenders looked shaky, he stood tall to stop several Port forward forays then use the ball well by foot. Finished with 15 disposals, 11 intercepts and nine marks (4 contested). Can hold his head high. 7
40. Luke Dahlhaus
Started at half-forward and seemed to be keeping a close eye on Aliir … well, for a little bit. Just six touches as he struggled to influence the game both offensively and defensively. 2
42. Mark O’Connor
Started on Connor Rozee before being subbed out of the game with a hamstring injury in the second term with just three touches to his name. 3
45. Brad Close
Played well on finals debut. Started on the bench and kept energy high throughout the game. Finished with 17 disposals, a kicking efficiency of 86 per cent, six score involvements and four tackles. 6
46. Mark Blicavs
Went to Todd Marshall in the defensive goalsquare at the first bounce but pushed up into the ruck to relieve Rhys Stanley. Probably looked a bit more sound in the ruck. 4
