Race 4 - 2:55PM BARRON’S TYRE & MECHANICAL CLASS 1 SHOWCASE HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
The 1400m is as short as 2. Sir Diamond wants it but he sets up to run well fresh in country company. Ended last preparation with a dominant win over 1700m at Scone. Might find a couple too sharp but this isn’t a deep race and doubt many will be stronger late. Each way.
Dangers: 4. Apache Red should be at his top now fourth up. He covered ground at Coonamble last start having drawn wide and knocked up. Draws to have no excuses this time. 12. Verdi is capable of giving a sight from in front at odds.
How to play it: Sir Diamond EACH WAY
Odds & Evens: EVENS
Race 5 - 3:35PM FUTURITY SHORTHORNS & CAROLAIS BARADINE CUP - SHOWCASE BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
10. Ishim sat outside of the lead at Coonamble last start and kept finding to run out a strong winner. It was a significantly faster time than 4. On A Promise, whose winning margin was flattered by his opposition. The early market looks wrong.
Dangers: Don’t love the jump from 1100m to 1400m for 3. Praline but he is fourth up now and his last start was at Warwick Farm. Has only ever had one crack over this trip in the past in Highway company and didn’t do much. Talented horse, though.
How to play it: Ishim EACH WAY
Odds & Evens: SPLIT
Race 6 - 4:10PM COONABARABRAN BAKERY CUP DAY SHOWCASE SPRINT (1100 METRES)
3. Classy Rebel is a winning machine at the moment. The sprinter has won eight of his 13 starts this preparation! Draws inside of the other speed horses in the race, so the rail should be his if he wants it. Has to be in the finish again.
Dangers: If the leaders overdo it look for 15. Joey’s Chance to pounce. Has bumped into some very handy horses this time back. 8. Depth That Varies possesses a huge finish and will also be suited if the speed is on, as it should be.
How to play it: Classy Rebel WIN
Odds & Evens: ODDS
Race 7 - 4:54PM COONABARABRAN BOWLING CLUB COONABARABRAN SHOWCASE CUP (1600 METRES)
2. Hit The Target worked hard early to get outside of the lead in the Coonamble Cup last start and knocked up late, as he was entitled to do. Draws much kinder in this and there doesn’t look to be a stack of speed in the race. Will give a sight at odds with this set-up.
Dangers: 3. Aesop’s Fable and 7. Rich And Shameless fought out the finish in the Coonamble Cup, hence the warranted market respect. 5. Wild Rocket found 1200m too sharp last start, but that tunes her up nicely back out to the mile.
How to play it: Hit The Target EACH WAY
Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 8 - 5:30PM REGIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK & BURMAC CLASS 3 SHOWCASE HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
1. Ziggi Rocks has only missed a place twice in his eight runs for Mark Mason. He is a no nonsense five-year-old that’ll make his own luck and keep finding the line. Suspect he has found the perfect race here.
Dangers: 4. Vivenzo wasn’t far away in similar company to this last start at Coonamble. She finally broke her maiden at Bathurst two starts ago, but she’s still lightly raced and it’s easy to get the impression that we haven’t seen the best of her yet.
How to play it: Ziggi Rocks WIN
Odds & Evens: SPLIT
