Women's slalom - Australia's Katie Parker out in first run

Switching quickly to alpine skiing, it's been a tough first run in the women's slalom.

We told you earlier about American superstar Mikaela Shiffrin missing a gate and failing to finish.

Now as we approach the end of the first run, there have been nearly 30 skiers who have had a similar result, listed on the results as DNF for Did Not Finish.

Sadly, one of those competitors who will not be taking part in run two is Australia's Katie Parker.

The Australian, who was cleared to compete after two negative COVID tests overnight, was the 53rd skier out of the gate.

She was going ok, more than a second slower than the fastest time, but then 30 seconds in, she hit a gate and lost control, failing to stay on the course.

It's a disappointing result, but it's clear from the results so far that it is a tough course to navigate.
