The NFL has since released video of the moment Jefferson, with confetti still falling on the field after the game, was told by a staff member that his wife was giving birth to their son.
"Oh my gosh," the 25-year-old said, before turning his attention to five-year-old daughter Bella, who was on the field with him.
"We gotta go to the hospital. We gotta go quick."
Jefferson later posted photos of himself and his wife holding their newborn son.
And while on-field receiving partner Cooper Kupp was named Super Bowl MVP, Jefferson knew who the real MVP was.
