Test fast bowler Jhye Richardson has played a crucial role with the bat but suffered a hamstring injury while bowling in Western Australia's win over New South Wales in the men's domestic one-day cup final.
- Western Australia won by 18 runs to claim its 15th men's one-day cup
- Richardson was injured while bowling after making 44 with the bat
- Western Australia's Andrew Tye took 4-30 to be named player of the match
Shaun Marsh was also injured with a knee sprain in Friday's match at Melbourne's Junction Oval, as WA triumphed by 18 runs to claim its 15th men's one-day title.
The result saw WA avenge last year's defeat to NSW in the final.
In a see-sawing match highlighted by Hilton Cartwright's astonishing and crucial outfield catch, WA made 9-225 from its 50 overs before NSW was dismissed for 207 in 46.3 overs.
Richardson top-scored with 44, leading WA's rearguard fightback after it had slumped to 6-89.
An over after bowling Baxter Holt for a duck, Richardson pulled up awkwardly in his delivery stride and had to leave the field injured with NSW on 6-117.
Richardson took five wickets in the second Ashes Test win at Adelaide Oval in December, but then withdrew from Australia's squad because of soreness and was left out of the Pakistan tour squad.
