The Broncos have scored five tries in the final 25 minutes to beat Canterbury 34-14 and avoid a fifth straight NRL defeat.
Brisbane had not won a game since round two, when they beat the Bulldogs 16-10, while Canterbury was trying to win their first game since their season opener against North Queensland.
Early in Friday's clash at Lang Park, it seemed the Bulldogs would notch their second win of the season as they were the better of two out-of-sorts sides.
Bulldogs winger Josh Addo-Carr crossed twice in the opening half-hour, with the Broncos eventually hitting back through Corey Oates in the shadows of half-time.
But Bulldogs fullback Matt Dufty crossed first in the second half to extend their lead, defying a reshuffling of their playing stocks after a COVID outbreak.
The Bulldogs were without Jake Averillo, Brent Naden, Ava Seumanufagai and Reece Hoffman due to positive tests, but the Broncos were similarly unrecognisable from their last start, albeit by choice.
After a 40-12 loss to Penrith, Kevin Walters moved son Billy to hooker, brought Tyson Gamble into five-eighth, and called up Te Maire Martin to replace the injured Tesi Niu at fullback, with halfback and captain Adam Reynolds the only player to keep his spot in the spine.
And he proved to be the difference against Canterbury, creating three tries late in an otherwise disjointed performance to get Brisbane over the line.
Trailing 14-6 just after half-time, Cory Paix stabilised some of the attack after replacing Walters, and crashed over from dummy half in the 56th minute to keep the Broncos in touch, before Reynolds took it on himself to give the Broncos their first lead of the game.
First he scooted down a short right side, chipped over the top for Jordan Riki, who popped a ball back to his skipper to cross in the 62nd minute.
Then, five minutes later, he threw a perfectly lofted pass over Addo-Carr to put Selwyn Cobbo over in the corner, making it 22-14 heading into the final 10 minutes.
They combined again soon after, with Cobbo sneaking past Addo-Carr and miraculously plucking a Reynolds grubber out of the air and slamming it down to put the result beyond doubt.
Cobbo turned assist man a couple of minutes later, breaking down the right wing before kicking back in-field for bench forward Rhys Kennedy to ice the game and complete what was suddenly a blowout.
