"Winning government? No, they don’t stand a good chance of that.
"But they do have a good chance of winning at least one seat. Specifically, one of Queensland’s Senate spots, where Pauline Hanson is up for re-election. Her election isn’t guaranteed, and it’s a crowded ballot paper in Queensland, but that’s traditionally where the party has its strongest support.
"In the lower house, there aren’t any seats where One Nation was close to winning in 2019. They managed to make it into second place in Maranoa, but that’s a very safe LNP seat and One Nation had just 27.5 per cent of the vote after preferences were distributed.
"Two other seats worth a look on election night, if you’re interested in seeing how One Nation has done, are Flynn in Central Queensland and Hunter in New South Wales. Those are the seats where the party got its highest first preference vote in 2019. They’re both seats with a lot of people who work in coal mining, and they’ve both been the subject of a lot of attention from all sides of politics in this campaign."
